My Story

Hey loves,

I’m so happy you’re here. I can’t wait for us to connect. While you’re here, let me tell you about myself. I’m a bit of an introvert and very shy in some social settings. I’m sure my friends will say the opposite of me because I tend to talk their heads off and keep them laughing. Jesus is the best-friend I’ve ever had. I am very family-oriented and love spending time with my friends too. Besides writing, I love reading book (romance, inspirational, women’s fiction, and YA are my favorite genres). I also love traveling, shopping, watching Auburn football, and watching NBA.

I’ve been writing for most of my life. It all started in third grade when my teacher read Pocahontas to the class. She gave the class a creative writing assignment from it. She asked us to use our imagination to rewrite the ending of Pocahontas. It was like something sparked in my soul on that day. I wrote 18 pages (9 front and back) of a twisted ending that amazed me more than it amazed my teacher and principal. My teacher hung my story on the wall outside.

Years later, I began writing in diaries. I wrote about my daily life, how I felt, and what I experienced as a child. Many years after that, God spoke to me through different ways about how He called me to be a writer. For a long time, I rebelled against doing what He wanted me to do.

In 2016, God spoke to me again at my sophomore college Honors event. I knew I had to make a change in my life. I began writing intensively. I changed my college major and ended up graduating with a B.A. in Creative Writing. Despite all the people who gave me funny faces and tried to put fear in my plans, I continued to keep the faith. Although I went back and earned a Master in Teaching, writing never left my heart.

Since then, I’ve written two full novels (both over 200 pages each), several devotionals, one children’s book, a ton of short stories, and lots poems. I plan to start on my third novel the summer of 2022. Many people may wonder why I write. Well, I write because it frees my soul. I write because that is the only time I am guaranteed to be uninterrupted. I write because I have something to say. But most importantly, I write because I want to share what God has laid on my heart. I hope my blog encourages you, lifts you up, and gives you a reason to thank God for all He’s done for you. Every blog I write is intended to inspire you and build your faith. After all, God has been good to every one of us (even during a pandemic and even during our darkest days). Thank you so much for reading my story. Stay tuned for my next blog post. You don’t want to miss it!
